You know I also find it funny that you comment on something that I wrote 8 years ago - though I think shopping and jobs have gotten worse since then.

That's good you love it. you should love the town you are in. I'm in the community band in Vermilion - I used to work at the haunted school house which is the search term you used to find this.

I pointed out things for young adults to do. I don't know what our life is like but pre-15 I didn't have a license and neither did my friends - so the above list was all there was to do. The fact that I had friends coming out of their teenage years with drug and alcohol problems doesn't surprise me. I was a bit more straight-edge so I just had the promiscuity side of the coin which is also rampant in vermilion.

Alas you said I should deal with it or leave? Well I moved out of Vermilion 7 years, 2 months, and like 2 days ago. I come to vermilion since I'm in the community band there, alumni band, and I have friends and family there. Because of no local jobs, poor choices and prices for local shopping, and an overpriced housing market for what you get in the area; I would never move back. If my wife had her choice we wouldn't even have moved back to this state.

The problem is the attitude of deal with something or leave. I left because of a career opportunity, otherwise I may have still been there. I have every right to complain about a time that I know intimately and I lived in for over a decade of my life. I can point out it faults. I can try to change and make a difference which I attempted andmay have actually done with some of the organizations I was a part of. That doesn't mean it's a model or great city. I've lived in good environments. The town I live in now may not be the best place I've lived, but it's better more active and vibrant then V-town.

Opinions are what makes the world go around - and I'll never tell you to deal with my opinion or leave.
