In just 2 days starts NANWRIMO 2007 -(National Novel Writing Month) the goal is to write a 50000 word novel in the time span of one month. I attempted last year and blogged about it, yet did not make it past the first chapter.

This year instead of taking a straight plot off the top of my head I’m going to draw from my own experiences and attempt to craft a tale that is a fictionalized account of my high schools years. Of course names will be changed to protect the innocent, some incidents will be left out, others will be added to fuel the imagination and make it a better over all story.

These things I hope will help me write a novel — a goal that I’ve been working on for 1.5 decades now, but it’s always been one of those things where I would get to it eventually. I’m hoping this go around works out in a way that is viable. I’m still up in the air if I will be publishing the story on the blog, that is all dependent on the final quality. I do know when December starts I will be working on some heavy editing (if I make it that far) so it wouldn’t be a Dec. 1st release.

I do think I have the will power and drive to accomplish this — I know this upcoming Friday night I will be up late trying to pound through a decent percentage of size. I am also aware that my recent joining of two community bands may hinder some time I would have spent writing — but I think it’s a worthy trade off.

All I can say is wish me luck and I’ll be doing my best to post my word count status every day in November.
