@Ross:

From a Photo Sharing perspective, I could care less about Picasa. I don't even really use the tools to their full extent on flickr enough to truly justify that complaint, but it is what is holding Picasa back for others.

However using API's with other services and from a data portability perspective having only 500 pictures per album is horrendous. If you weren't forced to put pictures into albums but could allow them to roam free I would have less of an issue since my only complaint then would be storage space. I do pay for space from Flickr so though the quantity isn't the same I can't truly complain about space from Google if I'm not willing to pony up.

With data portability and all the API tools coming out the album thing really needs to be addressed in my opinion.

If you have a flickr pro account, why are you using Picasa's online photo sharing capability? Simply use Picasa for organization and use the Picasa2Flickr plugin to upload to your flickr account.
