		<description>Thanks - though looking at it (since I still say for music there is no authoritative DB) - I&#039;m going to throw my weight (music wise) behind International music database project (&lt;a href=&quot;http://imslp.org/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;http://imslp.org/&lt;/a&gt;).&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Though I can say looking at the Lilypond thing there is one glaring issue with it  - throwing out the problems you can get into with intricate scoring - there seems to be no way (as per the example) to choose which octave the note sits in. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;In there example they show that you write A and it produces an off staff later - later in the same line you type A and it produces an above staff A) - now I&#039;m sure this is a type of some sort, but I don&#039;t know enough about the extension to correct it. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks though - I may do some more research in it - I have played with lilypond in Ubuntu - and I think a windows port?  Not sure if I remember the windows side as well.</description>
