Planescape: Tides of Numenera, I feel like a twenty something again. While I haven’t spent much time with it yet, I thought I should pass this out to crowd in general. Back in March 2013 I donated to the Kickstarter of this project. I’ll be completely honest, while they did send out regular updates on this project – after a year or two I just thought it was going to be vaporware. I had hope – just not belief.
Yesterday I opened the Mac app store and up on top this was a featured game. I did my best impression of Kyle’s mom and said “what, what, whaa…”. I immediately jumped over to my Gmail account and searched for Kickstarter. There was my email announcement, filtered off my inbox since Kickstarter can be quite chatty.
For the backers they can download a copy for Windows, OSX, or Linux. The game is also released for the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One. For the backers to redeem their key’s, there seems to be two avenues to do this. The first is the obvious of all – Steam. The second which is where I redeemed my code at was Good Old Games.
When they announced a new one though, I had to help support it. A strong single player RPG in a throwback style – it as a dream come true. The time I have spent with the game, its familiar but new. The interface is more polished than the older games. It looks modern in every sense of the word. I actually wished they would have used this style when they released the Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition a few years ago.
All these years of anticipation and finally it has come to fruition. I highly suggest you watch the trailer above and check
