Why I recommend “Postcards from the Edge”
by Mike Nichols
Postcards from the Edge may be an older movie in a lot of ways (1990), it still has a modern feel. Some people will say 1990 is recent – until you take into realization that 17 year olds who were conceived at the time of this movie shooting will now be voting for president next year.
Carrie Fisher’s writing in the movie feels real. Real in the fact that human emotions feel the way they should, like you would feel if you were going through the same scenario’s. I don’t feel it glossed over emotions, it was unique and something that I can say was genuine film art.
So many films can give you that real emotion, that if you want something that can be truly touching without trying to make you cry, you must see this movie.
